5 places we love in Miami for their freshly cooked food in a decent budget!

Updated: Jun 17, 2019

Welcome to Gourmet Station! Here we take pride in providing our clients with freshly prepared home-like food in an affordable budget. In this article, we would love to share with you some of our favorite places around Miami (and a little beyond) where we would recommend our clients to stop for nourishment while not in our area.

The Last Carrot, Coconut Grove

Few places have been around for so long time in Coconut Grove. This is a little vegetarian oasis in the neighborhood and when you cross the door it seems that you have literally followed the White Rabbit from Alice's Wonderland to his hole! Here you will find the locals enjoying freshly made juices, and a simple and straight forward menu of sandwiches and salads. All fresh, simple, and in a reasonable budget (even if you indulge in a three course meal!)

Green Gables Café, Coral Gables

This place has been around for over 15 years and is probably the one with the best designed menu when it comes to providing options to all dietary choices from vegan, to paleo and everything in between. Although it can get a little pricey depending on what you order, the menu has some very affordable options like their super salad and lunch bowl or the vegetarian plate. Open weekdays for breakfast and lunch only.

Lung Yai Thai Tapas, Little Havana

This tiny spot with an outside patio serves excellent authentic Thai cuisine that includes traditional Thai plates like coconut curries, soups & dumplings. If you get to seat in the bar, you can enjoy watching the staff cooking in a pace that looks like we've pressed the FF touch while speaking all in Thai. The only downside here is the eventual long wait in line and the ultra-fast service that can be frustrating if you are looking for sharing time and conversations around the table, but perfect for dinning before or after heading for a movie theater.

Their website is useless, but you can check them on Yelp or show up at 1731 SW 8th St, Miami, FL 33135.

Love Life Café, Winwood and Miami Beach

Fresh clean vegan food in a hype environment. We love this place for their affordable soups and carefully prepared currys. A must go for anyone into nutrition and health. Located at 2616 nw 5th ave, Wynwood FL 33127 and inside of the Time Out Market in Miami Beach 1601 Drexel ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139

What the Fish, Key Largo

And for a day out of town, here is one of our favorites! What the Fish offers a locally caught, ocean to table cuisine. Located next to a canal that leads to the ocean as well as several local business that offer activities such as Cycling, Paddle & Scuba. Their crab cake sandwich is delicious!

At Gourmet Station, we hope you can find joy through this mindfully curated list of our beloved tables around Miami! We are delighted in providing our community with freshly prepared food and tips to support your gourmet and healthy lifestyle.
